PATTY MALONEY Biography edited by James H. Vipond This stunning vivacious redhead with sparkling hazel eyes and a figure you can't forget, stands 3 feet 11 inches in her stocking feet. Pint sized she may be, but she's a great big bundle of talented energy. This lady is one of our most fabulous and versatile performers in the entertainment industry. Patty Maloney was born in Perkinsville, New York; she moved to Winter Park, Florida, with her family at the age of 7. Patty was well loved by her family and was never treated any differently from her brother or sisters. Her mother taught her that "you can attain any goal you wish to", and her mother's advice has stood Patty in good stead -- as you will readily see. It has become her slogan. Patty began her entertaining career when Edith Royal first opened her studio in Winter Park, becoming a featured dancer. She attended Park Avenue High School and St. James High School and graduated. While in high school she spent one summer traveling with a carnival and later, one year with Ringling Brothers Circus. It was not until she joined up with the Nate Eagle Troupe that she became aware she could indeed lead a truly cosmopolitan life -- and her family suddenly realized she was an adult. Here she grasped the many nuances of entertaining, learning to use make-up, to dress and hobnob with high society and government officials. Patty met the president of Honduras, and she's been photographed with numerous dignitaries. Even if she became successful, her mother insisted Patty should have another profession, sort of a safety valve, just in case .... So Patty attended the University of Florida and she became a keypunch operator. Patty made her way back to New York and obtained a position with National Airlines, where she met her future husband: Joseph Vitek, a printer from Chicago who was 4 feet 8 inches tall. After several years of correspondence they were married at the Actor's Chapel in New York. During her pre-marriage days she traveled to Europe, Cuba and South America. Back in North America, she married and moved to Chicago, residing happily with her husband until his untimely death. Her sorrow was deep as she also lost her premature baby at the same time. Her friends forced her back into the world she loved, "Show Business", and for this she was very grateful. She met Sid and Marty Krofft, who were putting together a new puppet show, and they promptly hired her. Patty moved to Los Angeles and she has been working ever since, as she is much sought after for entertaining skills. Patty has always maintained that little people must live in a big people's world, and she really does -- her home is furnished with normal-sized furniture. Patty is a model fashion plate, always dressed in high fashion, whether it be boots and slacks or beautiful evening dress. She has appeared in all media, from night clubs to feature films, and she really loves people, parties and life in general. [Addition: Since 1982, Patty has also been an animation voice actress, worked on the "Monopoly" game show pilot, and even worked the Cryptkeeper puppet on "Tales from the Crypt".] Patty may be just 3 feet 11 inches tall, but her heart is more like 6 feet tall. She is living proof that if you accept fate and learn to deal with it realistically, life can be beautiful .... it will pay dividends.
